Here’s a few of our favourite annual and one off events and festivals. There’s always so much to do and see in Melbourne, you’ll never be bored.


Petrolheads rejoice! The Australian Grand Prix brings the thrill of Formula 1 racing to the Albert Park Circuit. Experience the roar of engines and the excitement of world-class drivers battling it out. This event usually takes place in March or April.


One of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, the Australian Open kicks off the year with thrilling matches, international stars, and a buzzing atmosphere at Melbourne Park. It typically takes place in January.

Melbourne International Comedy Festival

Prepare to laugh your heart out! This festival is one of the largest comedy festivals in the world, showcasing a fantastic lineup of local and international comedians. It runs for several weeks, usually between March and April.


“The race that stops a nation,” the Melbourne Cup Carnival is not just about the iconic horse race. It’s a week-long festival of fashion, food, and high-spirited social events held in early November at Flemington Racecourse.


An independent arts festival bursting with creativity, Melbourne Fringe showcases a diverse range of performances, from theatre and comedy to dance and visual arts. It’s a platform for emerging artists and a celebration of artistic expression. The festival usually runs in September/October.
